On the lightning protection and grounding issues of DCS systems

Our company asked the meteorological bureau to carry out the lightning protection and grounding work for the DCS system. They connected a surge protector in parallel with the main power supply switch of the DCS system, and the ground wire was led, along with the instrument cables, to the protective ground inside the control cabinet of this DCS system. This DCS system uses single-end grounding – is this approach reasonable?

It is recommended that the lightning protection ground wire not be connected to the system’s protective ground bar; instead, it is more appropriate to connect it directly to the system’s main grounding bar.
