Design issues regarding the outlet at the bottom of the sedimentation tank: 1. A company has designed an outlet at the bottom of its sedimentation tank; I believe this design can be improved. The reason is that, during actual operation, fluctuations in the quality of the raw coal can lead to variations in the suspended solids content in the black water within the system. When the suspended solids content is too high, long-term operation of the system will cause blockage in the outlet pipeline at the bottom of the sedimentation tank. Once this pipeline gets blocked, solid particles will spread throughout the water system, causing scaling and blockages in other equipment and pipes; in severe cases, it forces shutdowns and disrupts production. In Huisheng Phase I, flushing water is designed for this purpose; the inlet of the filter press feed pump needs to be flushed regularly. Additionally, our company’s filter press feed pump does not have a flushing water connection at its outlet. 2. Design: The bottom of the sedimentation tank is equipped with two outlets, and these outlets are designed for flushing water; the outlet of the filter press feed pump also has a flushing water connection. 3. The design for the outlet at the bottom of the sedimentation tank has been optimized by Tianchen Institute. That is, a three-way plug valve is used at the outlet at the bottom of the sedimentation tank.
The use of a three-way plug valve at the outlet at the bottom of the sedimentation tank – specifically one equipped with flushing water – was suggested by the management personnel at Huisheng. The pipeline that leads from the bottom of the sedimentation tank to the pump is relatively fine, but the pipeline that goes from the pump to the filter press is prone to clogging; it contains a lot of solids and suffers severe wear. I heard that Huisheng also replaced this pipeline!
Yes, the pipeline from the pump outlet to the bag filter is prone to clogging; our factory has designed two pipelines as a backup.
