When modifying existing pressure vessels, such as by making holes in the cylinder body, is a hydrostatic test necessarily required after welding is completed? What is the basis for requiring a hydrostatic test? If the equipment pressure is high but only 40 connections are in use, is a hydrostatic test necessarily required? What if the pressure is lower? If the equipment is large and a large amount of water needs to be filled on site, should the bearing capacity of the site’s foundation be taken into consideration? How did everyone solve the problems encountered on site?
