I saw in a flowchart that high-pressure steam is added to a gas vent pipeline; I don’t understand what purpose that serves
Generally, steam purging is not provided at small gas vents. If it is a large gas release, it should be used for steam purging. However, the pressure of the steam should be medium to low.
On the flow chart, it is indeed high-pressure superheated steam that is involved; it shouldn’t be used for purging purposes!
There should be only two functions: one is to use steam for purging during the maintenance of coal gas pipes, in order to eliminate carbon monoxide from within the pipes. II. In winter, water accumulation in gas pipelines freezes and causes blockages, which can be cleared by heating with steam.
It’s likely to be swept away as it passes by.
