I’m not sure what the poster means by saying the drain trap is installed in an upper U-shaped configuration Generally speaking, however, if the backpressure recovery capacity of the trap is sufficient, upward drainage is not a problem; especially inverted drum traps are more suitable for this method. However, it is best not to arrange the steam traps in parallel vertically, as this approach can easily lead to steam leakage in the traps due to large fluctuations in differential pressure. It has little impact on the heat exchange efficiency. The hydrophobic coating method has a certain impact on pipeline corrosion, depending on the quality of the condensate water.
