Is there a difference between installing a venturi scrubber in front of a carbon scrubber tower in a Texaco plant horizontally and vertically? Install it vertically; that’s how it was installed at the place I visited. Could you explain the impact of the two installation methods on gas washing?
I’ve seen a few such devices, all of which are installed horizontally or vertically; perhaps the cleaning effect isn’t very good in that case!
Please describe the vertical installation situation; I’ve heard of it for the first time.

I’ve seen them installed vertically, but during normal operation they serve merely as a passage; since the gasification furnace has serious water issues, almost no water is added to the venturi. Only after parking, in order to prevent a rapid rise in the level of liquid in the vaporization furnace, was the control valve at the venturi opened fully to reduce the amount of water used for quenching. The chiller pump selected for this unit is also not very suitable; the flow rate varies greatly, resulting in either pump shutdowns or overcurrent issues. As a result, there is little control over the outlet flow rate of the pump. Installation in a vertical position does not affect gas washing; under the action of the flowing process gas, water is atomized to wet the fly ash, thereby also serving a washing function. Just like the four-nozzle and Texaco burners, whether spraying downward or horizontally, the atomization effect on the coal slurry remains unchanged.
