We are currently using EJA110A transmitters; the transmitter is placed on a middle platform, and an oil container filled with oil is placed on top of the gas tank. An oxygen tube is then connected to the transmitter for measurement. This method has many drawbacks – do anyone have any better suggestions? Let’s talk about it together
Measuring the elevation height of a gas holder using a radar level gauge
Measurement can be carried out using instruments similar to steel belt level gauges; the steel belt is fixed at a certain position in the gas holder, and its movement up and down helps to determine the position of the gas holder.
Check out this forum! It’s a bit similar to http://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-282403-1-1.html
Our company also uses this method, and it has many problems. I think it would be better to place the pressure measurement point on the outlet pipeline of the gas holder, since the height of the gas holder is related to the pressure inside it. You can give it a try
Oxygen welding hoses can be used without problems for vertical gas cylinders, and it’s sufficient to replace them regularly. However, in the case of rotating gas cylinders like those used in our facility, the lifting path is complex, and the oxygen hoses are prone to being pinched and leaking by the rotating wheels of the gas cylinders; thus their reliability is quite low. We have tried various solutions, but problems still occur from time to time. It seems unlikely that oxygen hoses can be used effectively with rotating gas cylinders. Which factory does the owner work for? This method is rather crude. We have been using radar for a long time. You are welcome to visit the site in person.
For those of us in the engineering sector, radar level gauges are the preferred choice for most design purposes!
Can a radar level gauge be used? Could you draw a simple diagram showing where would be a suitable location to install the radar?
A potentiometer will do; it operates through gear transmission, and it’s better to use a quality potentiometer (HONEYWELL M-22)!
German E+H can solve this problem very well. If you have any questions regarding the installation location or testing requirements, feel free to ask.
The Rosemount radar level gauge can be used for measurement.
