I’ve been here at Haichuan for some time now. I’m grateful that the forum provides a place for everyone to communicate. I notice that most of the posts on the forum relate to issues related to catalysis and hydrogenation units. I have a suggestion: perhaps it would be useful to create separate sections based on different specialties, such as sections for catalytic gas processing, hydrocracking, and atmospheric/ vacuum coking. This would make it easier for those in the same field to find relevant information and communicate with each other.
Those who have been involved in production know well that many problems are interrelated, and working together also helps with learning. (Personal opinion)
I also think the oil refining technology discussion area should be more detailed, so that people can learn and discuss based on their own specialties. If you’re willing, you can also go to other discussion forums that interest you to learn*, isn’t that better? I think this is better; having more details will certainly help in organizing posts and materials. But a refinery is an integrated whole – if there are problems upstream, it will affect downstream processes as well. It’s always good to learn more. Moreover, a refinery has multiple units; according to the way the original poster classified them, does sulfur, polypropylene, reforming, hydrogen production, and so on all need to be separated individually?
