Enclosed area: (a house, building, or space) refers to a three-dimensional space in which more than two-thirds of its bounding surfaces are enclosed, and there are sufficient passages to allow people to enter and exit properly. For a typical building, this requires its walls, ceilings, and floors to account for more than two-thirds of its total projected area.
