What are the differences in the job responsibilities between production engineers and process engineers?
In the same facility, such as an offshore platform, production engineers focus on production management, particularly the operation and maintenance of equipment. Process engineers focus on the setting and modification of process parameters. Generally speaking, one is a talent in production, and the other is a technical expert from a design institute.
Production engineers are primarily responsible for managing the production site, including production oversight, personnel management, and handling of abnormalities, with the aim of ensuring the normal and orderly operation of the production process； Process engineers are primarily responsible for production technology management and technical support, including plan formulation, parameter adjustment, and technical summaries, providing assistance and guidance at the production site.
One is to talk without taking action (one can draw diagrams), while the other gets straight to doing things (debugging, repairing, maintaining)
