I would like to ask the experts: We plan to install glass tube level gauges and magnetic flap level gauges on the tank. What type of valve is best to use between the level gauges and the tank?
Normally, globe valves or ball valves are used, and then the appropriate material is selected based on the medium.
I know too much about this; it’s just that on some of our drawings, the connection points for the level gauges are marked as angle valves, and I’m not aware of the principle behind that

In our family’s unit, it is connected directly to the tank using flanges; if a valve is needed, a ball valve is generally used! The center installation distance is the distance between the centers of the two flanges!

It should be fine as long as it can be truncated. Then select based on the properties of the medium inside the tank. We all use ultrasonic ones, which are placed directly on the top of the tank and connected via flanges

Glass tube level gauges are equipped with angle valves, which are of the globe valve type. However, after long-term use, issues such as rust on the valve stem of these globe valves can occur, leading to difficulties in rotating the stem or problems with ensuring a proper seal. When it is necessary to carry out maintenance, such as when the glass of the level gauge breaks, it is essential to shut off the flow at the base of the level gauge if there is material or pressure inside the equipment, in order to ensure safety during maintenance. For this reason, glass tube level gauges are usually fitted with upper and lower base valves in many applications, so as to enable rapid and secure shutdown in case of problems. Ball valves, which can be closed quickly and provide a good seal, are generally chosen for this purpose. This is what we have been doing for over a decade, and we find it to be an effective approach; it’s offered here for your reference.
