The reflux ratio at the top of the distillation tower is 0.1751, and the temperature at the top is 106 degrees. When I set the reflux ratio to 0 and add the same material to the top of the tower without a top condenser, why is the temperature of the gas at the tower top different?
What material are you distilling? With such a low reflux rate, is the quality acceptable? Without convection, how do you maintain thermal balance? It depends on whether the material flow rate and temperature you introduce are exactly the same as those of the reflux material

What is distillation? What’s the point of distilling if there’s no reflux? At its simplest, it is a stripping tower with a feed plate leading to the bottom of the tower.

In that case, it becomes an absorption tower.
