Issue of removing reinforcement plates from gas pipeline

According to the gas pipeline design specifications, gas pipelines with a diameter of DN1400 or larger are required to have reinforcing plate rings at regular intervals; however, this is designed in response to the tendency of such pipes to deform during winding in the past. Currently, all gas pipelines in our facility with a diameter of DN1800 or less use spiral welded pipes. Since spiral welded pipes have better structural strength than coiled pipes and are less prone to deformation, I personally believe that there is no need to use reinforcing ring plates for gas pipelines made of spiral welded pipes. However, since I am not sure whether the reinforcement plate ring has any other functions, I would like to ask the experts whether this plate can be removed.
Reinforcing bars are mainly used to prevent large-diameter pipes from deforming due to temperature changes. In the gas pipeline design manual issued by the Jiaonai Institute, reinforcing bars were required for pipes with a diameter of DN1400 or more, at intervals of 4 meters. In my opinion, such bars should be used for large pipes that are used for long-distance transportation; however, they are not necessary for gas pipes in the drum cooling section.
