The oil level in the oil sump of the piston compressor’s casing is high – where will the oil go? Is the crosshead oil-lubricated? What is the function of a stuffing box?
Is the oil drain pipe in the engine’s oil sump blocked? Oil will go into the body of the aircraft. The crosshead is definitely oil-lubricated.
Is the downhole pipe clogged? There must be lubricant at the crosshead. The function of the packing box seems to be: 1. To fix; 2. To seal
An excessive oil level increases frictional heat, which is what we refer to as high oil temperature; the oil level should generally be between 1/2 and 2/3 of the capacity. The crosshead must be lubricated, and the stuffing box serves to seal and prevent gas from leaking out of the cylinder block
The function of the stuffing box is to enclose the piston rod and prevent gas from leaking along it! ! ~
1 It is either a blockage in the return oil pipe or poor flow of return oil. 2 The crosshead must be lubricated with oil. 3 The packing box is used to hold the packing in place, creating frictional sealing against the piston rod.
An excessive oil level increases frictional heat, which is what we refer to as high oil temperature; the oil level should generally be between 1/2 and 2/3 of the scale on the oil sight glass. The crosshead must be properly lubricated, and the stuffing box serves to seal and prevent gas from leaking out of the cylinder block
Friend of the original poster, first take a look at the structure of a piston compressor. In such compressors, if the oil level in the oil sump is too high, the oil can reach the crosshead, and even flood it as well as the slideways; in that case, it loses its meaning. The oil should be filled to between 1/2 and 2/3 of the level indicated by the oil gauge; The function of the stuffing box is to provide sealing and prevent gas from leaking out of the cylinder block.
Last time when refueling, I accidentally filled it to the limit; the fuel level was at its maximum. But the fuel didn’t overflow from the filler neck, so it didn’t come out through the drain pipe either.
