I work in the chemical industry. What temperature range do people usually use RTDs at? At what temperature above a certain value is it necessary to use a thermocouple? I think a thermocouple is needed when it’s above 200 degrees, right? I’m a beginner; please give me some advice! :)
Generally, that’s the case. However, when using it, various factors need to be taken into consideration, such as the installation location and the medium being measured. In some of our factory’s measurement applications where temperatures are below 200 degrees, thermocouples are also used. The measurement range of the Pt100 thermistor is -200~850°C, and it functions properly for measurements below 650°C.
The temperature range for Pt100 is -200 to 850, but it depends on the type of thermistor you are using! For values over 350, TC is generally used!
First, please let LZ understand that the applications of thermocouples and thermal resistors are not determined by the level of temperature they measure! The actual conditions on site need to be taken into comprehensive consideration. Please describe the operating conditions under which the measurement was taken, and we will analyze them together.

I strongly agree with what was said on the fourth floor: it depends on the medium and the temperature; in my opinion, thermocouples should still be used when the temperature exceeds 400
I remember seeing that there; it seems that thermocouples require compensation, while thermal resistors are more convenient. Different models can be chosen depending on the ambient temperature, covering ranges from -50 to 1600°C, and special versions can reach ranges from -269 to 2800°C.
