As the title suggests, are the holes in the tray drilled using a drill machine or punched using a punching machine?
Thin sheets are all stamped out; a regular stamping machine is sufficient. It is suitable for industrial operation; the plates used for drilling are those that have been subjected to comparison. The thickness of the tray plates is generally below 3 mm, with some carbon steel trays having a thickness of 4–5 mm, but in all cases these trays have holes punched in them.
Most are stamped using a punch press, and then welded together to form a plate.

I visited a tower internals manufacturing plant, and I saw that the parts are produced using punching machines; this method allows for fast processing. With CNC punching machines, the error in the distance between adjacent holes can be kept within 0.05 mm, which is much less than the standard value of 2 mm. If there is a large quantity of tower plates of the same specifications, CNC punching machines can produce more than 2 tons of such plates per day. The punching quality is ensured by the gap between the upper and lower dies; generally, a precision gap of less than 15% of the plate thickness is sufficient.
