There are currently 2 manufacturers: The first one manufactures ordinary carbon steel pipes on-site, and after production they are sent to the manufacturer for coating with PTFE. The second option is that we provide the dimensions, and the manufacturer produces the pipes which are then delivered to the site for installation. Personally, I think the first one is better. Please share some opinions
Two suggestions, for reference only. 1. For carbon steel pipes lined with PTFE, a tight fit lining should be used; loose fitting linings or PTFE coatings applied separately are not acceptable. The performance differences are too large. 2. It is best for the manufacturer to fabricate the lined pipes at the factory and then deliver them to the site for installation. Due to the relatively basic conditions at the site, it is difficult to ensure the quality of on-site processing.
The first one is better; that’s what we do as well.
I have practical experience: 1. For most pipes, the length is determined based on the drawings or actual measurements, and these pipes are manufactured directly by the manufacturer. 2. During on-site installation, apart from the first type of pipe, those with non-standard dimensions are fabricated on site, marked appropriately, and then sent to the manufacturer for lining. In essence, this is a combination of the two methods mentioned by the original poster; we often use this approach here.

It is recommended to use the first one! It’s hard to guarantee the complete sealing performance of such lining tubes during on-site installation; moreover, installing them while lining simultaneously will affect the project timeline! "There’s already not much time, and on top of that the quality is poor. It’s better to send it back to the manufacturer for processing!
We have tried both methods; the first one is of course the best, but it takes longer to implement, while the second method requires the manufacturer to include adjustment sections.
For large orders, a two-step approach is used: first, follow your second method, and then pre-install the fittings on your own before contacting the manufacturer for lining. Combining these two methods results in the fastest turnaround time. If the operating conditions are simple, you can just turn to the manufacturer; generally, there will be no significant deviations.
We all have the manufacturers produce them according to the specified dimensions; the key aspect of plastic-lined pipe fittings is the quality of the plastic lining.
