At the start of catalytic operation, when should the booster be turned on, and what is the appropriate pressure for the boost air?
Before preparing for the fluidization of the two reactors, pressurized air is introduced; the compressor can be set to discharge air into the main air stream for circulation, and it should be put into use as soon as the conditions permit.
When the main air pressure is insufficient or the main fan fails, it is necessary to activate the booster fan. Sometimes, when starting up fluidization or when the regenerator becomes clogged, the booster fan is needed to establish fluidization. In some systems, the fluidization seems to be achieved using heat from an external heater; it depends on the specific circumstances.
In addition to being used for external heat extraction and fluidization, the pressurized air is also supplied to the regenerator sleeve; in other words, it plays an important role in the circulation between the two catalyst vessels. Therefore, when establishing fluidization in these two vessels during catalyst regeneration, the pressurizer should be turned on.
