Ineos transfers HDPE technology to Sinopec once again

China Chemical Industry News: Ineos Technologies recently announced that it has transferred its Innovene S process technology for manufacturing high-density and medium-density polyethylene (HDPE and MDPE) to the Wuhan branch of Sinopec Group Corporation, via Sinopec International Company. Sinopec Wuhan Branch’s 300,000 tons per year PE plant will produce various single- and double-peak PE products using Ziegler-Natta catalysts and chromium catalysts; this is an important part of Sinopec’s expansion of its petrochemical facilities at the Wuhan refinery. This is Ineos’ second transfer of this process to Sinopec Group. The Innovene S process was transferred to Sinopec Tianjin Branch in 2006.
Can Sinopec not conduct research and development after introducing the technology, and then promote its use within the system once it has been localized?
Seeing the title, I guessed it might be Wuhan. Wuhan probably uses one low-pressure system and one gas-phase system as well; I’m not sure if the process for the gas-phase system has been finalized yet
After it is purchased, will it have an impact on the existing devices in the domestic market?
