I would like to ask experts: the system is designed for 6.5 MPa, but now I plan to operate it at a lower pressure of 4.0 MPa for an extended period of time. What impacts will this have on the system? Such as syngas flow rate, composition, temperature, etc. Additionally, what operational problems might arise? I mainly want to ask how to calculate the change in synthesis flow rate and its composition under low pressure, as well as the water vapor ratio in the syngas.
1. If the operation is carried out only when the system pressure is low, the temperature control of the vaporization furnace should remain unchanged; 2. Based on the required water vapor ratio, the water vapor partial pressure can be estimated (2.5 Mpa), from which the temperature of the process gas at the outlet of the vaporization furnace can be determined. 3. Calculate the required amount of quenching water based on material balance and heat energy balance. The above considerations ignore factors such as process gas flow rate and carbon conversion rate; I believe this should not have a significant impact on the final calculation results.
If the system operates at low pressure, it is not possible to increase the load on the gasification system to its design level. The reason is that when the pressure is low and the load is increased to full capacity, the flow velocity of the gas within the system becomes too high, making it impossible to control the liquid level in the gasifier. :)
