To lead and operate their organization successfully, managers need to adopt a systematic and transparent approach to management. By establishing, implementing, and maintaining a management system for continuous improvement of organizational performance that addresses the needs of all stakeholders, an organization can achieve success. The management activities of an organization involve various aspects, such as quality management, marketing management, human resource management, environmental management, occupational safety and health management, financial management, etc. Quality management is one of the aspects of an organization’s management activities; it is an important component of such activities and constitutes their core. Over the years, through practical experience and theoretical research in quality management, some influential basic principles and concepts have emerged in this field. However, different scholars and experts have different formulations of these principles and concepts; for example, Deming proposed the Fourteen Points of Quality, while Juran put forward ideas related to quality planning, quality improvement, and quality control as part of a three-step approach to quality. The concepts and ideas of these scholars and experts have been disseminated within the quality management community and used to guide practice. To lay a theoretical foundation for the ISO 9000 family of standards, to enable them to guide organizations in quality management more effectively, and to promote widespread acceptance of these standards around the world, ISO/TC176 established a working group in 1995. By drawing on practical experience and theoretical analysis related to the ISO 9000 standards, as well as the insights of some of the most respected quality management experts worldwide, it took about two years to formulate and compile the eight quality management principles. Its main purpose is to assist managers, especially top management, in systematically establishing a quality management mindset, truly understanding the essence of the ISO9000 family of standards, and improving their management capabilities. At the same time, ISO/TC176 systematically applied the eight quality management principles to the 2000 version of the ISO9000 standards, enriching their content and thereby enabling them to support quality management activities more effectively. This achievement has received approval from many **. The eight quality management principles are a summary of practical experience and theory in quality management, particularly the experience gained from implementing the ISO 9000 family of standards and the theoretical research conducted on this topic. ISO/TC176 provides a clear description of the eight quality management principles in highly concise yet easy-to-understand language. It is the most fundamental and universal general principle of quality management, applicable to all types of products and organizations; it constitutes the theoretical basis for quality management. The eight quality management principles are essentially also universal principles of organizational management; they are the result of the development of modern society, the accumulation of management experience, and the continuous evolution of management science theories. The eight quality management principles fully reflect the principles and concepts of management science; therefore, applying these eight principles can also provide assistance and guidance for other management activities within an organization, such as environmental management, occupational health and safety management, and cost management, thereby truly helping the organization to establish a management system aimed at improving its overall performance. The eight quality management principles are guidelines that organization leaders must follow in order to carry out quality management effectively. They also assist auditors working in the field of quality, consultants who help organizations establish management systems, and all those within an organization who are involved in quality management in learning, understanding, and mastering the ISO9000 standard family.
