The valve stems of the check valves in our facility are over 20 years old, and I’ve been the one to replace them all. It used to take one person to do the replacement, then two people; now that larger valves are needed, it’s no longer possible to lift them there. The main reason is that the working area is too small, and not enough people can get inside. Since 2004, when replacements were made, the entire valve was usually cut off, a new valve head was installed at the bottom, and then the whole unit was reassembled. Replacing the valve head isn’t a big deal; the main thing is to pay attention to one’s own safety (since the valve head is difficult to handle, and if it’s too large, it’s impossible to lift it). The technical requirement is to align it with the valve seat.
