The Volume 2 of the Professional English Test for Titles in 2009 continued to exhibit the advantages and characteristics seen in previous years. The exam questions included one cloze test and one reading comprehension passage selected from the book; these two passages are the new ones that Teacher Li Yujи emphasized repeatedly in the course. (1) Cloze Test The cloze test focuses on New Ideas, and there are basically no changes to the blanks. Compared to previous years, this comprehensive B fill-in-the-blank test paper has very distinct features: 1. Compared to the articles in the textbooks, Chinese explanations are provided for words that we are not familiar with or that go beyond the scope of the curriculum; for example, explanations are given for terms such as carbon dioxide, greenhouse, insulation, mixture, and refund. 2. Basically, no new questions were added, and the correct answers remained unchanged. What has changed are the options for the 15 questions: individual distracting options have been modified, and the order of the A, B, C, and D options has been adjusted. (II) Reading Comprehension 1. The reading comprehension passage is titled \"Declining Interest in Developing Foreign Language Skills.\" It discusses the fact that Australians’ interest in learning foreign languages is declining, and its purpose is to urge developed countries to pay attention to language learning as well as the development of language skills. The article is still a new article from 2009. Compared to the title in the book, there are the following changes: (1) In question 36, \"how much percent\" was changed to \"what percentage\", and such a change is not difficult at all. (2) The order of options ABCD has been adjusted. 2. Another article is about March Madness, covering a sports-related topic – American basketball. For question 31, the sequencing principle discussed in class can be applied; the answer should appear in the first paragraph. Question 32 is a typical true-or-false question; again, following the principle of questions being presented in order, the answer should be in the second paragraph. Question 33 is also a true/false question. (III) Vocabulary The vocabulary options in 2009 were relatively simple. It should be noted that the first 15 questions on the vocabulary section are different from those in the tests prior to 2008: in the tests before 2008, fewer and fewer questions came from the textbook; but starting from 2008, including this year (2009), it can be seen that a considerable number of these 15 questions are either questions that have appeared before or questions from the textbook.
