It is beyond doubt that syngas contains some fly ash; it’s merely a matter of the amount. To ensure the stable and safe operation of the facility, this amount of ash is kept within limits that do not affect operations, so there’s no need to worry too much about it. Otherwise, the entire facility cannot function, let alone just a few valves!
This is a problem related to solid particles in gaseous media, and the key factors determining it are the particle size, hardness, and concentration of these solid particles. If the particle size of these solid particles in the gas medium is small, their hardness is low, and their concentration is low, they can be ignored ； Otherwise, special care must be taken to select valves that can adapt to such operating conditions. If the valve is not selected properly, its sealing surfaces will wear out quickly, resulting in internal leakage.
