The oldest units in our plant are the atmospheric and vacuum distillation units as well as the catalytic units, which were put into operation in 1983. The retirement period for various facilities is determined by factors such as society’s expectations regarding the technological level of facility development, societal requirements regarding the environmental performance of industrial products and factories, a factory’s economic capacity, and the urgency of its need for technological upgrades. Given the current level of development in China’s petrochemical industry, the retirement period for such facilities should be between 10 and 15 years. The factories as a whole have established retirement deadlines for various equipment; by promptly introducing new technologies and processes that have withstood the test of time, and by combining them effectively with proven traditional techniques, it will greatly contribute to raising the technical level of China’s petrochemical industry and promoting the development of clean production.
The depreciation of typical refining units is calculated over a period of 15 years.
We **do not dispose of our equipment according to regulations unless it is no longer needed, because it is difficult to secure approval for new projects, but it is easy to get approval for technical upgrades and capacity expansions. Therefore, it is unrelated to the construction and commissioning timeline.
