What is the difference between steam and vapor?
Water in its gaseous state should be called vapor, I guess. Vapor probably refers to a state of unsaturation.

Steam generally refers to superheated steam, that is, gas with a temperature higher than the boiling point at the corresponding pressure; whereas vapor usually refers to saturated steam, that is, gas with a temperature equal to the boiling point at the corresponding pressure.
