It should be related to the shape of the sulfur melting tank. Our sulfur melting tank is cubic in shape, and it’s made of acid-resistant bricks; therefore, they are basically standard bricks. Generally, manufacturers only use anti-corrosion coatings at the liquid level area.

Melt sulfur tanks generally do not require acid-resistant bricks; ordinary bricks are sufficient, as the acidity is very low and neutralization is also available.
All of our sulfur melting tanks are constructed using ordinary acid-resistant tiles, in the same way as towers are built. I personally think this is the way to go; it’s inevitable that some of the heating coils will leak, which will lead to acidic corrosion at the liquid surface. Furthermore, the quality of sulfur is also guaranteed.
Near the liquid level, both the tank and the coil should be protected against corrosion, which will extend their service life.

I don’t think acid-resistant bricks are necessary for square grooves. Since the sulfur residues in the cleaning troughs harden considerably, and it takes hammers, steel chisels or pneumatic drills to loosen them, tiles can be easily damaged; therefore, it is advisable to use such methods with caution.
The sulfur melting tank requires a lining made of acid-resistant bricks; however, this is not necessary at the bottom, but it is essential at the top. The acid present in sulfur can cause corrosion there, and the steam coils in our sulfur melting tanks suffer from severe corrosion as a result. It is necessary to add alkali, but the neutralization process is not always even or complete. Therefore, it is important to install acid-resistant brick lining at the top of the sulfur melting tank – ordinary acid-resistant bricks can be used for this purpose.
