Many of the oil storage tanks in our factory are 30,000 cubic meters, and the liquid level is often lower than the thermometer (the thermometer liquid level is 800mm). How can we judge the accurate temperature in this situation?
In this case, the thermometer will not be accurate if it is not in contact with the liquid. It is recommended to install a temperature measuring point under the original thermometer for measurement.
Generally, this kind of situation occurs when paying oil, and the change of oil temperature is not considered.; But it won't work during oil collection. We can only wait to reach the temperature measurement point. Perhaps the design specifications consider that the importance of temperature measurement at low liquid levels is not too high.
Why is it always operated with low fluid level? Regardless of heavy oil or light oil, the bottom of the tank either contains a lot of water or impurities, and the oil is heavier.

Isn’t it possible to directly take a sample and measure the oil temperature? Or measure the density and back-calculate the oil temperature.
I guess I didn't consider it that much during the initial design. It's a design flaw. You can install a thermometer at the bottom of the tank or make a temperature measurement point on the logistics outlet pipeline.
This is an individual case and is measured manually.
This situation does not occur often and rarely occurs when oil is stored normally.
