I would like to ask: how low can the activation temperature for carbon dioxide be, and what kind of catalyst is required?
Be more specific please; I didn’t even understand the question. What is carbon dioxide used for? A catalyst is also needed
I just want to know what kind of catalysts can be used to catalyze reactions involving carbon dioxide so far, as well as what the temperature of these reactions is. I want to conduct some experiments related to reactions with carbon dioxide
I guess the poster is referring to the activation temperature for the reaction of CO2 and H2 to produce methanol? In the feed gas used for methanol synthesis with copper catalysts, a certain proportion of a specific component is required in order to better control the reaction temperature (the reaction between CO2 and H2 produces water, which helps to remove some of the heat generated during the reaction). When heating the catalyst, the temperature is generally controlled to above 190 degrees at a relatively fast rate, in order to prevent the formation of carbon-based substances and to avoid poisoning the catalyst. The reaction hotspot temperature of a newly installed copper-based catalyst under normal conditions is controlled around 230 degrees. During the methanol synthesis reaction, CO2 reacts with H2 to form methanol before CO does.
