I would like to consult shell furnace experts: when increasing the ash content or adding limestone to adjust the ash fusion point or pH level, do the following problems occur? And how can they be resolved? When gasifying coal with high ash content and high ash fusion point. This gives rise to issues such as whether the water wall can support a uniform layer of slag, ash accumulation in the gas transmission pipes at the top of the gasifier and in the waste heat boiler, the dust removal efficiency and capacity of the high-temperature, high-pressure dry fly ash filter, the problem of finding a way to dispose of the large amount of fly ash generated daily, the frequent failures of the quenching gas compressors, and problems with the black water system used for washing and cooling to remove dust. The problems you mentioned exist to some extent; currently, various manufacturers are adjusting their operations according to their own circumstances. Issues such as slag accumulation and ash buildup require gradual adjustments in the way coal is used. It is likely that SHELL cannot yet provide a satisfactory solution to these problems. As for the NDRC ordering a halt to SHELL’s gasification project, nothing has been heard about it yet.
How many shell furnaces are in use in China, and how many of them are currently operational? What are the reasons for not having much luck?

Currently, there are 23 sets of SHELL gasification units in operation; 6 of them are currently in use – three belonging to Sinopec, as well as those at Liuhua, Yuntianan, and Yunzhanhua. Kaixiang is also in operation
Yihua Shuanghuan is still in operation, and it continues to hold the domestic record for the longest continuous operation period (120 days)
There are also dual-circuit systems in operation, with an operational record of 123 days
