Let’s discuss the impact of Mg contained in limestone on desulfurization efficiency, gypsum dewatering efficiency, and scaling formation. An appropriate amount of magnesium can act as a nucleus, facilitating the deposition of precipitates and the formation of gypsum
Additional comment along the way: Excessive Mg can lead to difficulty in dehydration!
In previous attempts at magnesium salt-based decarburization and desulfurization, a high degree of decarburization occurred simultaneously with desulfurization, resulting in poor selectivity.
