What is the type of heat tracing used for the sulfur collector in sulfur recovery? Intermittent? Is it still continuous? What should I do if it gets blocked?
We use independent vertical collectors with jacket heating and packing inside.
It is usually a jacketed tank, insulated with steam. If there is a blockage, the most likely cause is the mist trap at the top; the solution is to improve the insulation and raise the temperature of the process gas for a short period of time.
Our device uses jacketed heating. When there is a blockage, first check whether the heating system is functioning properly, paying special attention to the temperature of the heating; next, examine whether there are any improper operations, such as overheating, and make adjustments promptly. If that doesn’t work, the device must be stopped for inspection and repair
If the catcher located after the sulfur cooler is combined with the sulfur cooler itself, it is possible to omit the heat tracing line beneath the mesh, activating it only during startup and shutdown periods; whereas if it is a separate catcher, a jacketed heat tracing system is used for continuous operation.
It is usually a vertical jacketed device, with steam being used for continuous heating; the supply of steam must not be interrupted, otherwise low temperatures can lead to blockages; 1. If there is a blockage, it is very likely that the steam flow rate is too low, resulting in inadequate heating ; 2. Or there may be impurities in the system, such as ferrous sulfide, catalyst powder, crushed porcelain balls, etc., which can all cause blockages ; 3. It is also possible that the temperature at the front end is not high enough to reach the temperature required for ammonia combustion; furthermore, the flow rate of the process gas is low, the exit temperature is also low, and the presence of ammonium salts in the system causes blockages.
