Regarding the version issue of Aspen Plus

Which version is everyone using now? There are Aspen 11.1, Aspen 12.1, as well as Aspen 2004, Aspen2004.1, Aspen2004.2, Aspen2006, and Aspen V7. It can be said that 2006 is an upgrade from 2004; so what is the difference between the versions labeled by year and those numbered 11, 12? So, when using these different versions for the calculations, will the results also change?
I conducted calculations using 11.1 and v7 for comparison, and the results were not very different. Of course, this is limited only to the example in question.
Actually, I’m more interested in knowing the differences between them. A few days ago, the supervisor gave me a simulation for one of the units; since I had no prior experience with Aspen, I installed Aspen 12.1 on my own computer. And I downloaded a large amount of material from Haichuan to get familiar with this software. However, it will not open on my Aspen 12.1 – it says the version is incorrect. On someone else’s Aspen 2004.1, it works fine. Today I uninstalled the version I had originally installed and installed Aspen V7; now the program opens and I can continue working with it. I also have quite a few problems now, as I uninstalled my Office during the process of installing v7. Sigh. It’s really tough to decide.
Hehe, obviously, a higher version can open a lower version.
