I agree with the point above. It seems that it is intermittently overflowing from the slag outlet. I wonder if there is any other way?
Small furnaces discharge intermittently, large furnaces discharge slag continuously.
I wonder what type of equipment you use to remove slag and how effective it is?
In most sulfuric acid plants across the country, continuous slag discharge is mostly used. Dry slag discharge is the main method. Most of the equipment used is drum cooling, humidification and then sold outside.
Continuous slag discharge can be continuously flushed away by the cooling water of the furnace, which means a large amount of sewage is produced. However, we use a water washing and purification process. The water is neutralized and precipitated with lime before reuse, and the sedimentation tank is cleaned regularly.
It should be continuous slag discharge. I know that there are two types. One is roller slag discharge and the other is water flushing slag discharge. If sulfur is burned, slag discharge is not needed. It is only used when burning pyrite.
Continuous slag discharge is more commonly used. Another rule depends on what raw materials you use and how much sulfur they contain. If the amount of slag is large, you can add a slag discharge hole.
Continuous inspection, first enter the slag cooler (air cooling: similar to a boiling furnace), and then enter the plate machine\heater\slag dump.

For continuous slag removal, use a scraper.
For intermittent slag discharge, the use of high-temperature star-shaped ash discharge valve is a last resort because the bottom pressure cannot be maintained.

As a smelting enterprise that roasts pyrite and produces gold as a by-product, continuous slag discharge should be adopted as much as possible and kept stable. It is beneficial to the control of subsequent processes and the stability of indicators.
Most of the projects I have done involve continuous slag discharge. Generally, the cooling drum is shared with the waste heat boiler after the roaster, and is discharged after cooling.
