What software is good for designing pipe strings and pumps?

I need to design some well completion diagrams, pump design drawings, etc., but I’m not sure which software to use. My senior suggested using CAD, but those in the mechanical engineering field say that CAD isn’t suitable. I’m a bit confused, so I would appreciate some advice from those with more experience. Thank you! ! ! !
CAD is good; we in the chemical industry use it. Those who study mechanics have many tools, but we don’t need that many~~~

There are many specialized software programs for designing downhole strings and pumps; PEOffice’s wellstring module is an excellent software for the design and calculation of downhole strings.
