I have never understood the concepts of water seals and oil seals. The water tank of the deaerator is filled with water. What does its water seal mean? Generally where is the deaerator located?
Is there no answer to this post? I also have this question, that is, the medium in the deaerator is water and steam. What is the need for water sealing?
Atmospheric deaerators can be sealed with water. If the pressure is too high and the water seal is broken, the pressure will be released. There is no need to set up a safety valve. If it is a pressure deaerator, two safety valves must be set and water sealing is not allowed.
The atmospheric deaerator uses a water sealing device instead of a safety valve, which has overpressure protection and has drainage and deflation functions. It is generally located at a high overflow level.
