In 1997, the CO2 compressor control system in our factory was upgraded to a “CCC” control system. The original PG-PL and Askania speed controllers were removed from the speed regulation system, and the high, medium, and low pressure control valves are controlled using electro-hydraulic converters produced by the American company MOOG. Due to their unstable performance, these converters are set to be replaced with ones manufactured by the VOTIH company. During production, since the secondary oil pressures generated by the three MOOG valves for primary steam, extracted steam, and injected steam are not identical, the potentiometer readings of each MOOG valve differ as well. If one of these MOOG valves fails and needs to be replaced, it is necessary to recalibrate its valve position, which is a time-consuming and labor-intensive process ; The instrument technician suggested that during the modification, it might be possible to adjust the springs inside the hydraulic cylinders so that all three electro-hydraulic converters are tuned identically, thereby allowing the spare electro-hydraulic converter to be used interchangeably with the three in use without the need to adjust the valve positions. May I ask, can this idea be made a reality?
The idea is feasible, but it’s necessary to recalculate the spring torque; the spring may need to be replaced, which makes the process rather complicated.
