We have consulted various experts. In the past, I used domestic catalysts that required screening every one or two years, with part of them needing to be replaced as well (the operational efficiency of the equipment was also poor). Now, on the new installation, I am using imported catalysts, and after 4 years they are still performing well. I would like to ask our friends to share information regarding the use of catalysts in their factories, as well as what the typical lifespan of catalysts is
The service life of domestic catalysts (Kaifeng) is generally 5–8 years, while that of imported catalysts is usually 5–10 years. Note: When the purification indicators are within normal range
We use imported catalysts, which generally have a service life of around 7 years
We have to conduct screening once a year, and their lifespan is only around 5 years. Domestic catalysts are of lower quality compared to imported ones.
The catalyst life in our factory is 5-8 years
The catalyst life is actually closely related to the catalyst consumption rate; due to differences in purification standards, the catalyst life and consumption rates vary significantly among different manufacturers. Generally speaking, the purification performance for producing acid from pyrite/smelter flue gas is somewhat lower, and the catalyst life is shorter. There are also exceptions; for instance, in the acid production process from smelting flue gas at Tongling Jinlong Copper Industry, which uses a two-stage Menmorex power wave washing process, the purification performance is very good.
Imported catalysts are better than domestic ones, but they are also more expensive
The catalyst life is closely related to the purification performance indicators; systems that can use imported catalysts are generally larger in scale, and the control of these indicators is usually more stringent, resulting in a longer catalyst life. On the other hand, domestic catalysts operate in relatively poorer conditions; they are more commonly used in smaller-scale factories, where quality control is less stringent, which results in a shorter lifespan for these catalysts. In fact, the strength parameters of imported catalysts are inferior to those of domestic catalysts, and under the same operating conditions, they do not necessarily have a longer lifespan than domestic catalysts.
