Does the poster want to install it first and then apply PTFE? Is it possible?
It is the on-site connection of PTFE-lined pipes to pipes or equipment.
PTFE-lined pipes are best prefabricated before on-site installation, as this offers significant advantages in terms of installation speed, cost, and safety of use compared to handling them on site!
Based on experience, there is a significant difference between the design and on-site installation; often, custom gasketed hoses purchased according to the design requirements encounter various problems after being installed on site. When problems arise with the rubber-lined pipes purchased by our factory, we first carry out installation adjustments; once they meet the requirements of actual production, they are removed and sent back to the factory for re-rubber lining.
Pipelines lined with PTFE seem to be connected in sections using flanges
At our current installation site, we first prepare the pipes, and then send them to the other party for lining with PTFE. This not only improves work efficiency but also saves a lot of effort. However, the flanges of the pipes sent for lining don’t need to be fully welded; it’s sufficient to secure them with a few spot welds
The lined pipes installed not long ago were fabricated in advance (with flange connections), pre-assembled, and after passing pressure tests they were sent to the manufacturer for lining. Following specified technical inspections (such as thickness checks and spark testing), and once they passed these tests, they were transported to the site for assembly; only after achieving airtightness were they ready for use. For reference!
Buy pipes of various lengths, and arrange the piping on site according to the equipment pipelines; in case of any deviations, PTFE flexible connectors can be used. That’s the method used in our factory. This should be both fast and cost-effective. Quartz glass tubes are also made using this method; it’s not possible to have glass tubes custom-made.
When welding after lining with 8# zbx, won’t the temperature generated during welding damage the lining?
It depends on actual needs; in fact, once the design is finalized, pre-installation isn’t necessarily required. For large-scale orders, a standard version can be made first, and after the installation of the remaining parts, the dimensions can be measured to carry out customization, which ensures both time efficiency and quality. There are also inherent drawbacks to processing steel components. Since the lining pipes all have flanges, when produced in large quantities, the thickness of these flanges becomes considerable. Besides, all kinds of on-site conditions exist, so pre-installation is still necessary for end items and small-scale special applications.
