Applications of steam condensate collection tanks: Which company currently offers the best products for such tanks? Can they be used to collect steam condensate from oil storage areas? What should be done if heating pipes in oil storage areas leak and cause oil to enter the condensate system?
The steam condensate collection tank can theoretically collect all steam condensate, including that from the oil storage area. The normal steam pressure is relatively high; leaks in the heating coil have been observed, but leaks into the steam itself have not been seen – only leaks of steam into the oil, which causes the heavy oil to boil violently! So there is no need to worry.
We collect our condensate water in carbon steel tanks; however, these tanks develop rust, so they cannot be used in applications with high requirements. Usually, the water is discarded. For more sophisticated applications, coating the inner surface of the carbon steel tanks with epoxy will suffice.

The condensate tank is a standard type of tank; it can be manufactured to custom specifications. The material used is 304, which does not produce impurities such as rust. If acidic substances are present, 316L material can also be used for fabrication.
