After configuration, what needs to be downloaded? Which ones are not needed? Can things that don’t need to be downloaded be transmitted during normal operation?
After the lower-level configuration is completed, it needs to be downloaded. Minor modifications during operation can generally be made online; however, in cases such as hardware configuration changes or large-scale modifications, most DCS systems require shutdown in order to perform the download. For upper-level operation stations, if they are of the C/S type, the configuration only needs to be uploaded to the server, with the client side not needing any intervention. This is the case with HONEYWELL’s PKS system. If all operation stations access the DCS controller directly, then each station must have its configuration downloaded. The upper-level system can perform the download at any time, but it is necessary to ensure that there is a machine available for monitoring and operation during operation.
The program and hardware configuration information need to be downloaded. It is better not to do this online, as some controllers do not support offline installation, which could lead to shutdown accidents. Transmission is acceptable; it does not involve the controller part and therefore does not interfere with the calculation process
