What are the reasons for the poor heat exchange performance of plate heat exchangers?
It is related to the heat exchange medium; it is necessary to check for leaks, scaling, or blockages. Since the channels between the plates are quite narrow, usually only 2–5 mm wide, when the heat exchange medium contains large particles or fibrous substances, these can easily block those channels.
The heat exchange efficiency of a plate heat exchanger should be good; this situation is likely due to internal leakage or blockage.
