I would like to state upfront that it is not for personal gain, but for forum management! As the title suggests, the current first moderator only holds a nominal title; in terms of permissions, there is no difference between them and other moderators, but sometimes they still need to coordinate the work across the entire forum section. It’s a bit awkward to assign some tasks to other moderators – after all, it’s not right to make them do the work without giving them any reward, so I end up doing it myself. For example, in the Safety Engineering section, due to changes in the moderators last month, I created 10 issues of the “Daily Question” series on my own. The hundreds of posts moved from the temporary storage area for irregular safety engineering documents were all sorted, combined, and organized by myself; sometimes I feel overwhelmed by the workload. However, the moderators of the safety engineering section are very united, and all the posts in the discussion area are managed by those other moderators. All of this leads to one conclusion: I think giving the first moderator some authority to award rewards could help facilitate the management of this forum.
