What fuel is used to ignite the boilers in companies these days?
We use diesel to start the furnace; for the boiler, we use an oil gun as the initial ignition source, along with a plasma igniter. Once the load is stable, we gradually remove the oil gun and introduce coal powder.
The wet steam generator in our facility is ignited using liquefied petroleum gas, the natural gas heater is lit directly with natural gas, and coal boilers use other combustible materials such as wood.
We use diesel for ignition; I’ve also seen other units use propane, as well as oxygen and acetylene.
Our unit’s original steam boilers, which used heavy oil for combustion, had burners that were ignited using liquefied gas from cylinders; after that, the heavy oil was ignited. The current burners use natural gas, and they can be ignited directly with natural gas
