I am a student from the class of 2009 who has just started working at Offshore Oil Engineering Company. My future job will involve designing heat exchangers for use on offshore platforms. This semester, I have to complete my graduation project, and its topic is \"Enhanced heat transfer mechanisms and the design and calculation of high-efficiency heat exchangers.\" I want to relate this project to my future work. From what I’ve learned, U-tube heat exchangers are used on offshore platforms, but I’m not sure what the fluids involved in the heat transfer process are, nor am I aware of various parameters such as inlet and outlet temperatures, pressures, and heat loads. If anyone knows these details, I would be extremely grateful if they could share them with me. Any guidance you can provide regarding my project would be greatly appreciated!
Heat exchangers on offshore platforms are used for many different purposes~~~~ There is no typical one^_^ So, you need to rethink how to phrase your question.

Bro, if the pressure and temperature requirements aren’t too high, you might consider plate heat exchangers – this represents a new trend in the development of heat exchangers. A company as large as CNOOC needs to keep up with the latest technologies. Moreover, since marine platforms require limited space, it’s advisable to use compact plate heat exchangers, which are efficient and help save space as well!
I supplied a plate heat exchanger to CNOOC in Tianjin, which was used to cool formation water; it is said to have been employed in a domestic hot water system.
