Distinction between the distillation section and the stripping section in a distillation column with multiple feed streams

During my graduate school interview, I was asked how to distinguish between the distillation section and the stripping section in a distillation column with multiple feed streams, between the various feed plates However, almost all books on chemical engineering principles avoid this issue. I only know that from the top feed plate to the top of the tower is the distillation section, and from the bottom feed plate to the bottom of the tower is the stripping section; but there seems to be no clear definition that distinguishes between the distillation section and the stripping section between the feed plates. But I was indeed asked this question during the interview, and it was said to be related to my material balance calculations; therefore, I hope experts can offer some guidance. Please tell me how the distillation section and the reboiling section in a distillation column with multiple feed streams are distinguished from each other. Thank you. It would be great if you could provide detailed information on the calculation formulas and methods, or indicate where they are mentioned in that book (please specify the book title, as I have already looked through more than 10 books on principles of chemical engineering). The top section is called the distillation section, while the bottom section is called the stripping section. Either some genius throws riddles at you, or some idiot comes up with random questions. The top section is the distillation section, while all the other sections are the stripping sections. The following sections perform material balance calculations in the same way as the conventional distillation section.

Thank you all! I consulted an expert, who said that each column has a main feed, and it is this main feed port that separates the distillation section from the stripping section. The location of the main feed is determined based on the production tasks; various opinions exist, and I used to hold Darliu’s view as well, haha.
