Generally, water is first added, chemicals are introduced, steam is used for heating, and after it meets the standards, it is washed with clean water.
The purpose of boiling the drum is to remove rust, grease, dirt, and other contaminants from a newly built, overhauled, modified, or long-idle drum, thereby preventing issues with steam quality or damage to equipment and blockages in the pipes. Before starting the boiling tower, it is necessary to clean out any slag or other debris from the drum. In addition, the relevant instruments must be properly calibrated, and utility services such as deionized water and steam must be available in sufficient quantities. Before steaming, it is generally necessary to wash several times with water until the water drained is clean; only then should steam be introduced for steaming. During this process, the rate of temperature increase must be strictly controlled, as an excessive rate of temperature rise should be avoided. When adding steam no longer raises the pressure in the drum, the drum is slowly depressurized, the synthesis tower cools down naturally, and then the water inside the tower is drained completely. Replenish water into the drum, use steam to heat it up, add boiler treatment chemicals to the drum, maintain a stable pressure in the drum and carry out continuous boiling for 24 hours; thereafter, release the pressure, lower the temperature, and drain the water. This process should be repeated several times.
