In tar distillation, the extraction volume for many side streams needs to be adjusted. I’m not sure whether it’s better to use the valve at the tower outlet or the valve in front of the sight glass for this purpose

For the outlet valve of our plant’s tower, adjusting it before using an endoscope makes it very convenient to observe and control the flow rate.
In tar distillation, DCS is used by everyone. The asphalt and the three types of mixtures obtained are regulated using pneumatic valves. For anthracene oil, our factory uses pumps to extract it in the amount needed; basically, not much accumulates in the distillation tower. The valve before the sight glass for the second type of anthracene oil is also used for regulation, but in reality its opening degree remains fixed, and there’s little need to worry about crystallization or similar issues. . .
