It’s not easy to answer this question. Let’s put it this way: it is an important non-ionic surfactant. It is a general term for esters formed from alcohols containing three or more hydroxyl groups (such as glycerol, polyglycerols, sorbitol, anhydrosorbitol, etc.) and fatty acids. It can be used as an emulsifier in various foods, household chemicals, and cosmetics. The most common of these are monoglycerides of fatty acids (such as monoglyceride oleate) and sorbitan esters (such as Span 80); these substances mainly contain oleic acid, linoleic acid, and linolenic acid, along with small amounts of palmitic acid, stearic acid, and others. Mine contains monoglyceride oleate, sorbitol, and stearic acid, but none of them are polyunsaturated fatty acids or polyols. Are substances like ‘polyglycerol polyoleate’ or polyethylene glycol dioleate included in this category of (C16-C24 unsaturated fatty acid polyol esters)?
Of course, it also applies that different products have varying performance levels, and they may be used in different industries as well
