Through what equipment and methods is superheated steam produced? By how much can it generally be overheated?
Superheated steam with a pressure of 3.82 MPa and a temperature of 450°C can be produced by heating it in a superheater.
Superheated steam is steam that has been further heated above its saturated vapor pressure; the highest level of superheated steam I’ve seen was 3.55 MPa at a temperature of 420°C
Saturated steam is heated using superheated boilers, while thermal power plants use flue gas boilers to heat saturated steam. The superheated steam I use here is only superheated by about 20 degrees.
Superheated steam is generated as a result of throttling expansion. Generally, the steam coming out of the boiler is at a relatively high pressure. After pressure reduction, since the temperature changes little, some of the liquid water vaporizes into steam; the pressure of this steam is higher than the saturated vapor pressure, thus superheated steam is formed. The superheat depends on the effect of pressurization. If the pressure changes greatly, the superheat will be high!
After being reheated in a steam superheater, saturated steam can become superheated steam; the required temperature depends on your needs as well as the heating medium used.
The superheated steam used in our hydrocracking unit is saturated steam at 1.0 Mpa, generated by recovering the heat from flue gas through a convective heater (F201) fed to the distillation tower! This steam is then divided into two streams, which are supplied respectively to the distillation tower (C202) and the heavy diesel stripping tower (C203) as stripping steam
We obtain it through heat exchange, by exchanging heat with high-temperature steam and saturated steam
